Nursing Home workers solidarity and perseverance continues to pay off as more bargaining teams win contracts with higher wages and better benefits. Together we are staying strong and demanding that employers treat us as the healthcare professionals we are.

Strong Contract Wins:
Avamere workers put significant pressure on our employer after they brought an insulting wage proposal of 3 to 3.5% “raises”. First, workers held a budget action to show how low wages harm workers. Then, when we still didn’t get the wage proposals we deserved, Avamere workers voted unanimously to take our fight public. This pressure worked and last week Avamere workers voted to approve our new contract that includes an average of 14% wage increases at ratification and 20% over the next 2 years for all workers!

Workers at Cascadia of Colfax just approved our new 2024-2026 contract which includes wage increases for all staff along with an expanded wage scale and more PTO for all employees. These wins come after Cascadia of Colville and Clarkston workers also secured new contracts.

Hyatt workers in Spokane and Bellingham continue to celebrate our 2024-2026 contract with CNA starting wages of $24.00 to $29.00/hour! These historic wages set a higher standard for all Nursing Homes — making it clear to all employers that investing in caregiver wages is the best way to ensure quality care for residents.

Avalon workers will be voting soon on a new 2025-2026 contract with $24.00 to $28.50/hour for CNAs and $20.00 to $23.60/hour for Housekeeping and Dietary, $3.00/hour pick-up shift bonuses, and more. This is a new, strong first contract that workers won after our facility was sold to a new employer.
