Our Union represents 60,000 caregivers in home care, nursing homes, and residential care who are dedicated to improving the lives of all long-term care workers and those we care for. Caregivers have a stronger voice when we are united and have each other’s backs.
Before we founded our Union in 2002, caregivers made minimum wage and got minimal respect. Since then, we have won better wages, better benefits, and better training.
Membership in SEIU 775 is valuable. Only members are eligible for special Membership Plus discounts and benefits. And only members have the right to participate fully in the internal affairs of the Union, vote for Union officers, run for Union office, be involved in collective bargaining, and vote to reject or ratify the collective bargaining agreement for your bargaining unit. Together, we are stronger — for ourselves, for our families and communities, and for our residents and clients.
How can I join SEIU 775?
If you are a caregiver providing in-home care as an IP at Consumer Direct or a unionized agency, a Nursing Home worker at a unionized home, or a Direct Support Worker at a unionized supported living provider, you are eligible to become a dues-paying member of SEIU 775. You can find the list of unionized employers at seiu775.org/contracts. You can complete and submit your voluntary SEIU 775 membership form at join775.org.
How much are dues?
Caregivers voted to set dues at 3.2% for home care workers and 1.95% for Nursing Home and Supported Living workers.
